The Rhinelander Repeater Association was formed in 1977 as a Non-Stock Not-for-profit corporation to promote Amateur Radio in the Oneida and Vilas County Areas. It's founders put the original 146.940 Rhinelander repeater on the air. After a period of hibernation, the RRA is awake. Stay tuned for updates as the process is on-going.
More information will also be provided on the Northwoods ARES Net Sunday at 7PM on 146.940 / 147.120 Linked Repeater System and the 147.195 Minocqua repeater also linked via Echolink
Elections will be held every June. Nominations open up at the April Meeting and close at the June meeting, the new officers terms begin in July of each year. Currently the club meeting are held after the Northwoods ARES/RACES meeting which is the first Thursday of every month, typically held at the Newbold Fire Station #1
The Rhinelander Repeater Association ( RRA ) is intended to co-exist with Northwoods ARES. Both entities involve Amateur Radio in the Oneida and Vilas County Area, but each organization fills a void in the other: needing to be separate, but working together.
Other groups in our area include, but are not limited to and in no particular order: ARRL, WeComm, Vilas County Amateur Radio Club, Inc,. WIN, the Tomahawk Repeater Association, the Merrill Amateur Radio Group, and the Black Jack Amateur Radio Club. Cross Membership is encouraged. We want to work together to support and promote Amateur Radio in our communities.
